In the sixth episode of Season 1 of Dream of Europe, we visit capital Greece — Athens. Watch the full episode on YouTube (still also available on PBS) and subscribe to the Dream of Europe YouTube Channel! So how to visit the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens Greece?

The Odeon of Herodes Atticus is a spectacular feature of modern architecture built within the Acropolis in the second century A.D. Like much of the Acropolis, this spectacular and unusual amphitheater architecture has withstood the test of time. Nestled among other famous structures in the Acropolis like the Parthenon, this is one of the very few ancient monuments in Greece that is still in use for its original purpose almost 2,000 years later–to gather artists and art and music lovers in one place. The amphitheater seats 5,000 people. Famous musicians such as Frank Sinatra, Elton John and Sting have played here.
